Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has spoken about the future of his son Arjun Tendulkar, saying that he created the same environment for him as he did during his childhood playing days. Sachin Tendulkar urged parents to give their children the necessary freedom.

Arjun Tendulkar made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut against the Kolkata Knight Riders last month. The left-arm pacer represented Mumbai Indians (MI) in all four matches and picked up three wickets at an average of 30.7 and an economy rate of 9.36.

I got support from my family – Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin said that his older brother, Ajit Tendulkar, was instrumental in his early cricketing years, adding that his parents gave him freedom to play.

“I received the support of my family. Ajit Tendulkar (brother) was instrumental in finding a solution. Nitin Tendulkar (brother) did the painting for me on my birthday.” Tendulkar said.

“My mother worked at LIC, while my father was a teacher. They gave me freedom. I urge parents to give their children freedom too.” added.

Sachin Tendulkar revealed that he advised his son to pay attention to his game instead of thinking about outside noise.

“I’m trying to create the same environment that was created for me. When you appreciate yourself, people will appreciate you. Pay attention to your game as my father used to say, and now I say to Arjun: added.
