IND vs AFG: Dates confirmed for India-Afghanistan ODI series, senior players including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to rest. With their sights set on the World Cup, the Men in Blue will host Afghanistan for a three-match ODI series in June. The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) will appoint an interim announcer as a result of the series.

“BCCI will soon officially reveal the schedule of the series after the culmination of IPL 2023. With the Indian team traveling to the West Indies for a long tour in July, fresh faces in the ODI series and senior players can be expected. I could choose to rest in the series ”, added the source.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had previously stated: “The media rights bidding will launch as scheduled this year (June-July) and will depend on the Afghanistan tour, but the process is more likely to start with the Australia series (in September).

“The Board will speak to all stakeholders involved and make an interim decision (for the broadcaster),” Shah had said during a select media interaction.

It will be exciting to see if BCCI launches a bid for just the Afghanistan series given that the broadcast contract between BCCI and Star expired at the end of March.
