Veteran bowler Mohammad Amir shared an interesting story about the incident that occurred between him, Shoaib Malik, Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli etc. after the 2017 Champions Trophy victory in England. Pakistan beat arch-rivals India by 180 runs in the final match of the main event.
Pakistan scored a whopping 338 runs for the loss of four wickets, helped by a century from Fakhar Zaman, who crushed 114 off 106 balls. In response, Pakistan put out the opposition with 158 runs to clinch their first Champions Trophy title. Mohammad Amir and Hasan Ali scalped to three wickets each to break India’s batting line-up.

During ‘Cricket Kahaani’ show on A Sports, Mohammad Amir recalled how Shoaib Malik explained Saeed Ajmal’s famous drop catch after the 2017 Champions Trophy final with Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli.
“If you remember, when we won the Champions Trophy final, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj, you, Azhar Ali and I were standing up and the way you explained that catch fall by Saeed Ajmal, it was a lot of fun for me. the way that you explained it to all,” Amir told Shoaib Malik.

When asked about the infamous catch he missed during the ODI against the West Indies at the Dubai International Stadium, Malik said he and Saeed Ajmal were in a state of confusion.
“It’s one of those things that no matter how many times you say it, it still makes you laugh. I enter that phase. He was sitting there with his hands representing a flower. When he tried to make the catch, the ball was completely out of his hands. My mistake was that I should have said yes to that catch, but when I saw him fold his hands like a flower, I felt it was too easy. It was a doll and Saeed would catch it.” Malik said.
“So when that catch was released, I asked him, ‘Why didn’t you take that catch?’ He said: ‘I folded my hands like this because I was preparing to catch it in case you dropped it.’ I was like ‘Boss, I already let it go’. Saeed, everyone knows, he’s a wonderful guy. He makes you laugh so hard, it’s unbelievable.” Malik added.
