More than three years ago, I wrote an article on what he can and should do next. This article has talked about batsmen using cage strikes just before hitting the racket in a match, and their only rejection when they had good matches. Since then, the Brisbane Heat have tried to hit the hitting cells, but singles’ refusal to showdown in their favor was still a rarity in T20.
At that time, the article was theoretical. Since then I have worked with franchisees around the world as an analyst, general manager and consultant. I have written reports, plans and tips on how to improve teams, players and coaches in T20. This article, kind of a follow-up to 2017, on what T20 teams can do to improve, was developed based on these reports.
Use high-definition cameras to zoom in on the bowling movement.
Watch this video at 822 frames per second in the baseball episode. The ball does not spin at all, which is simply unbelievable when alone. But the throws are very clear: you can see exactly where the fingers are, what they are doing and how the ball is released.
The reason this clip is so hypnotic is because of its clarity and detail. Edgertronic cameras were invented to photograph fast-moving creatures such as hummingbirds and bees for nature documentaries. But baseball coaches quickly realized how useful they are, and there is no reason why they couldn’t cricket. If the teams haven’t bought them yet, then they are not far from it.
In baseball, these cameras are used to create new types of serve because they allow you to see every hand movement. Edgertronic allows shooters to see how to turn the ball more or less; What happens when the seam is moved; And whether any tone of the fingers repels from the lower part of the hand. Cricket is more stressful than baseball – with only slow balls you have to build a lot of balls, and these cameras would be a great tool for bowling attacks.
They also work with batsmen, providing coaches with a wealth of detail for small technical problems that conventional cameras cannot fully capture. It would also be a great tool to teach batsmen how to best read bowlers. Of course, a team of relaxed moral principles can leave the camera strategically placed on the network while the adversary prepares for training, hoping to gain useful information.
Another technology that can help bowlers is the handheld Rapsodo Pitching 2.0 device, which evaluates delivery against various parameters using visual tracking technology. It is somewhat similar to the Hawk-Eye, but cheaper, providing information about points and angles of launch, speed and rotational speed (RPM), axis of rotation (contact angle) and efficiency of rotation (the amount of break specified for For example, to compare rotation over head Blow to the leg). It can also provide loop and drift data. A year ago, Rhapsodo said they were developing ways that a machine could be designed to work in cricket.
Observe your opponent’s skills
Another way to gain an advantage is to study your next opponent. Apps like sports always allow players and coaches to filter balls by length, streak, move, kick, sprint, goal and a number of other categories and then view them. So, for example, this will allow you to see every outside player that Ovneshwar Kumar has thrown into PowerPlay over the past three years.
While this view of the opponents’ shots is useful, there are elements such as position on the pitch and tactics that are not clear from this analysis. And almost all of the footage is taken from behind the shooter – a normal TV angle – and players can learn a lot from that. You can notice if the error is faster or slower, but without the rake angle, many secrets are difficult to uncover.
However, cricket teams do not often use scouts to observe an opponent before the game. If you’re playing in a league with the same opponent over and over again, one way to get an edge is to shoot all the bowlers you come across from the front. TV companies are not always able to share their footage, and more often than not they record what is needed. Edgertronic may seem trendy, but it only costs $ 5,000- $ 10,000 (a quality camera with a long lens will be much more expensive).
It may be difficult to capture live streaming rights, etc., but this image is common in other sports. And this has already happened at least once, in 1999, when Sri Lankan coach Dave Watmore removed the Mutiya Muralitaran for bowling. That I haven’t researched yet. He was filming evidence in defense of Morali’s work.
The most important problems arise in the net a few days before the match. This form of training isn’t scary for a red ball cricket trying to hit the chute, but it’s terrible preparation for a T20 match. You want batsmen to explore 360 degrees and figure out how they hit the ball while watching it get stuck in multiple empty spots. And you want the bowlers to pass each ball in a specific situation. Now in some leagues and tournaments, online training is all you can do, and there are practical reasons all over the world that make it the most popular form of training, but simulated match situations would be ideal preparation before a match. The Wicket Center, where the first three hits collide with your bowler’s new ball; Medium circuit with an old ball and bowlers in the middle; Death archers oppose the attackers. Basically, create a fast paced cricket fight that can end in 90 minutes by helping outfield players, batsmen and shooters practice the playing skills they need.
I’ve seen teams use different forms of this – Bob Walmer mimicked the ODI match against Pakistan in the mid-2000s – but they always go back to networking. And there are many things that work well online, like sharpening a new connection or shot, or just finding some rhythm. But at the end of the day, your number seven really needs to know what it’s like to go out and fight eight balls with the missing players, because it’s their turn and they won’t be able to do it every match.
Measure the average batsmen’s ability to hit the ball
The question most often asked by players, beyond the information they can use to conclude a larger contract, is how far to go.
Which cricketer will take the ten longest strikes? Is there a land like the Wanderers where the ball moves further due to the height? During the last World Cup, I reached out to production teams, cricket boards and TV channels to ask them if they would share their data on this topic. As far as I know, no one has ever collected it.
Given that cricket is a ball-hitting sport, it lags behind the actual hitting of the ball. Just a few years ago, my customer center tested cricket bats and realized that for all the talk of powerful modern bats, an eight-pound skinny club 100 years ago hit the ball exactly when it hit the ball. The middle of the bat. The fact is that the size of the middle has increased.
For a while, analysts, coaches and batsmen brought their golf rangefinders and measuring wheels to measure the ultimate dimensions. But there seems to be less focus on how far each tennis player can go. It’s not easy to measure, and you need to know a little to rule out errors, and have a rating for each contact to get an average for good engagement and bad results. If you need six and the border rider is 65 meters and you know your average good touch is 75 meters, you can support yourself to reach your strength instead of trying to throw you don’t have that much. is obtained using success.
Do more in team building
Usually all players and staff attend T20 tournaments a week or two before the start of the dribbling and dribbling tournament in the hope of the best. You already have the ideal position for small groups and factions before they even touch the ground. These are not teams, they are a group of cricketers.
Cricket is as strange a team sport as it is. It is a sport for singles athletes who compete in small games on the field or in pairs for the sake of partnership. And in the T20 group, where people sometimes gather for the first time a few days before they go out to play, it seems reasonable for most players to think about themselves first. The coach told me that in some leagues many legionnaires choose not to make it to the finals because that means they get paid the same for less work.
It’s hard to get over all of this when you’re hiring a team building company to get people to play a memory game for hours. You have to really plan how to make him feel like a team. You want the big, young players to lead, the players have lunch together and look at each other after a bad match. And in a match, you want your pro on the street to run mid-range to give advice to a potential 20-year-old player.
Right now, at the first sign of trouble, one or two people are checked out, and then everything quickly slips away. In a three-week tournament, or even one ten-week tournament, you can’t make an emotional mistake. And while cricket may not be ready for team builders who come in and get players to do woodwork blindfolded, you could probably carve out seats in meetings and in other contexts so that players and coaches aren’t in their friendship groups or did something as simple as saying the senior tailor in his left hand: “We have two little tailors here in our left hand. Can you have them for lunch twice this week? ”
Better knowledge of your teammates can mean that you are more likely to provide some advice to a young player that can pay off for years to come. Building a team can happen naturally, but if you spend millions, you might want to invest a little time and money to make it happen every time.
