The former employer will be located at three. He is the most experienced hitter in this Kiwi batting lineup. He scored 6 and 0 in the first Test and would like to make a substantial contribution in the second.

The lefty can be located in four. He scored 4 and 7 in the two innings of the first Test. Nicholls has now played over 50 Test matches for New Zealand, averaging 37.04. He needs to side with him in the second Test.

Southee, the captain, will come in at eight. He will have the added pressure of winning the second test. He did not have a good first test with either a bat or a ball. He only took two wickets in the first Test.

Neil Wagner

Neil Wagner will partner with Southee in the absence of Trent Boult. He picked up six wickets in the first Test. He will need to bowl aggressively against the England batsmen in the second Test. Wagner passed 250 Test wickets in the first Test.
