Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma has endorsed Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera to be his future superstars in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He said that his story will be similar to that of Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya.
Mumbai Indians are considered the factory for producing exciting young players and turning them into superstars. Over the years, the franchise has given Indian cricket many great players and in the ongoing IPL 2023, its two players are once again the hot soup.

Two lefties, Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera, have drawn everyone’s attention with their performances. They have not only impressed many but have also won games for the Mumbai Indians and are among the main reasons they are in the playoffs.

Tilak Varma entered the fray last season as he led the team in runs with 397 runs and has been sensational this year as well. He has missed the last few games due to injury, but in the 9 games he has played, he has scored 274 runs and is expected to play an important role in the playoffs.

On the other hand, Nehal Wadhera has played some game-changing shots for the Mumbai Indians and has amassed 214 runs at an average of 30.57 in the 12 games he has played so far.
Rohit Sharma said that just as the Mumbai Indians have raised the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya into superstars, the same thing will happen with Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera. Speaking to Jio Cinema, he said:
“Honestly, it will be the same story what happened with (Jasprit) Bumrah, Hardik (Pandya) and all these guys. That’s the same story that will happen with guys like Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera.”

Rohit Sharma went on to say that after two years, people will say that Mumbai Indians have superstars in Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera, but these guys, but the fact is that they are being trained first. He elaborated:
“Look at the next two years, then people will say ‘arey ye toh superstar team hai (they are a team full of superstars). These guys are being scouted and they’re being trained. These two guys are going to be big stars for us and for India.”
Rohit Sharma currently captains the Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. He has guided his team to the playoffs this year. He will be seen in action when they take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eliminator on Wednesday (24) May.
