Sunil Gavaskar was interacting with Star Sports and was asked about Ruturaj Gaikwad.
“He has also captained Maharashtra on the domestic circuit. So he has captaincy experience. More importantly, I think he is a certainty in the team. You have to be someone who is a certainty, who is one of the first picks. I just think the captaincy will make it a lot more consistent.” Sunil Gavaskar said.

“We saw that when Rohit Sharma was appointed captain of the Mumbai Indians. Before that, he was doing these adorable cameos. After he was made captain of the Mumbai Indians, he was scoring big runs because he realized how important his wicket was to the opposition and so he wasn’t giving it away. So I think he could be quite similar with Ruturaj Gaikwad.” added.
Great opportunity for CSK
CSK have an excellent record in Chepauk, where they would try to make the most of home conditions. CSK management should use Ravindra Jadeja in the middle order as he is someone who can take on spinners and provide stability to the team and up the ante.
