During a recent interview on the Delhi Capitals YouTube show DC Cafe with his wife Meha, all-rounder Axar Patel shared a humorous incident from the 2021 IPL season. Axar Patel revealed that he almost wore his wife’s jersey to a match in Dubai, resulting in a comical situation.
During the same interview, when asked about the most significant moment in his life, Axar Patel replied, “06.15.2014: My Indian debut.” This was the date he made his debut for the Indian cricket team and it is a cherished memory for the all-rounder.
“I had just come back from playing in the blistering heat of Dubai…I was sweating profusely. After cleaning myself up, I took out the only T-shirt left in my bag. The shirt felt too tight,” she said.
“I thought after all the gym, my body has bloated up and the shirt doesn’t fit me anymore. I asked someone to check whose name was written on the back…they said it was Meha’s shirt” .

During the current Border-Gavaskar Trophy, 29-year-old cricketer Axar Patel put on an impressive display with the bat. He was teamed up with the experienced spinner Ashwin, and together they formed a crucial eight-wicket partnership, adding 114 runs to India’s total. His efforts helped India to a total of 262, just one run behind Australia’s first-innings scoring.
Axar Patel will be looking to continue his fine batting in the coming games of the season while taking a few wickets to his name, as the Indian all-rounder has been a bit ineffective on the ball taking just one wicket in two games.
