“Rishabh has been an excellent leader for Delhi Capital”- David Warner
David Warner started his IPL campaign in 2009 with the Delhi franchise (formerly Delhi Daredevils), however, he later switched to Sunrisers Hyderabad. He led SRH to the franchise’s only championship win in the competition in 2016. David Warner was fired from the franchise, eventually returning to Delhi following a dispute with team management in the 2021 edition.
“Rishabh has been an excellent leader for Delhi Capitals, and he will be missed by all of us. I would like to thank the management for the faith and trust they have always shown in me. This franchise has always been my home, and I couldn’t be more excited to lead such a talented group of players. I can’t wait to meet you all and get to work!” David Warner said in a statement issued by DC following the announcement.
Warner had a fantastic strike rate of 150.62 while scoring 432 runs for the Capitals in 12 games last season. In competition, he smashed five half centuries.
