There has been a lot about the 2023 Asia Cup where BCCI has refused to travel to Pakistan citing their Indian government decision. According to PCB sources, Pakistan is likely to continue to host the Asia Cup 2023 and India is likely to play its matches in the United Arab Emirates with a few other games including the final if necessary, PTI reported.
Pakistan has not hosted the Asian Cup since 2008 when Sri Lanka won. PCB have successfully toured England and New Zealand where the teams were very happy with the hospitality and safety. This Asia Cup is considered as a springboard for ODI WC as the tournament will take place in September 2023.

PCB Chairman Najam Sethi was asked if Pakistan will host the tournament.
“What can I say about what happened at the Asian Cricket Council board meeting? There was no resolution.” Najam Sethi said.
A source close to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) made an astounding statement about the Asia Cup 2023.
“Sethi made it clear at the ACC meeting that the PCB wants to host the event and some of the home games.” said the source.

Some hope for Pakistan
Pakistani fans would be delighted to see the Asian Cup held in their backyard as the nation is in a crisis right now. The final is believed to be played in the United Arab Emirates if India books a place in the summit clash. It would not be wrong to say that the players would be exhausted from the trip.
Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai have reportedly been finalized as the 3 locations. The United Arab Emirates had hosted the 2018 Asia Cup and the recently concluded 2022 Asia Cup. It would be interesting to see if Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are ready for these multiple venues where the pitches would be different. It seems unlikely that BCCI will change its stance for the 2023 Asia Cup.
