Suryakumar Yadav

Indian Cricket Team would be completely disappointed with their performance in the 3rd Test Match. The hosts lost the test match in 3 days. Suryakumar Yadav he was ruled out after the 1st Test Match where he scored 8 runs in the 1st innings. Suryakumar Yadav he was eventually replaced by the handsome batsman Shreyas Iyer, who had recovered from a back injury.

The Australians had an almost perfect game in which they were quite clinical in all 3 facets of the match. Captain Steven Smith’s attacking tactics have been quite fruitful where he has given no singles to the opposing team. Cameron Green, the flamboyant all-rounder, could be used with the old ball which he has many variations on.

Ricky Ponting on Suryakumar Yadav

Ricky Ponting was having an interaction with ICC and was asked if Suryakumar Yadav was unlucky enough to be dropped from the Test squad after the first Test match.

“No, I don’t think I was unlucky. Yes he played 1 test but that was because they (India) were waiting for Shreyas Iyer to come back to full fitness. If you look at what Shreyas has done in the last 12 months in Test cricket, particularly at home, he’s been outstanding.” Ricky Ponting said.

“So, it was unfortunate for Surya to miss out, but it was because an in-form Shreyas Iyer had to go back to the middle order. I have no doubt that his time will come. Surya, his time will come when it comes to Test cricket.” added.

Ricky Ponting on Suryakumar Yadav’s test race

Ricky Ponting has made it clear that he will soon be in white for the Men in Blue and stated that he has all the skills.

“I certainly haven’t pigeonholed him as just a cue ball player. I think the skill is showing in the white ball game and I have no doubt he can transfer that to Test cricket and probably in different conditions as well.” Ricky Ponting said.

“I think he’s one of those guys who is skilled enough to be able to play well and adapt to most conditions. If a place opens again in that middle order, then I certainly won’t be cheating on you.” added.
