IND vs AUS – The Stats Say Virat Kohli Has Got Out To Spin In The Last 1-2 Years: Dinesh Karthik Makes Shocking Claim On Kohli’s Form Against Spinners

Team India talisman Virat Kohli will be looking to retain his old touch as India take on Australia in the second test of the Border Gavaskar series which begins on February 17. In the first match, Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant century, Ravindra Jadeja played well in both batting and bowling, and R Ashwin and Axar Patel also contributed to the team’s victory.

Despite these impressive performances, Virat Kohli struggled in the first match and was only able to score 12 runs before being dismissed by debutant Todd Murphy who took seven wickets in the match. As the second Test will be played at the Kohli ground, there will be a lot of attention on the former India captain.

In the red ball format, Virat Kohli has been struggling with his form on the subcontinent, having scored just 174 runs in his last ten Test innings. He has failed to score a half century in either of these innings, which has raised some concerns about his ability to take on spin bowlers. Virat Kohli has been sacked seven times by spinners in these ten innings.

Indian batsman Dinesh Karthik, who was present on a talk show, commented on how Virat Kohli has always been a good spin player but his current form shows otherwise. However, he believes that while the statistics can tell that Virat Kohli has struggled against spinners, it is mainly due to variable factors.

“You look back at the time where I’m sure he’s a better fast bowler than when he started. Maybe your game against spin is down a bit, but that’s okay and relatively understandable. You don’t play as many spinners when you travel abroad, you don’t play as much with good spinners, you would probably end up playing on the domestic circuit for more hours, even if you play on the subcontinent.”

“You can debate the fact that he hasn’t played well against spin in the recent past, but he’s a very good player when it comes to spin bowling, especially finger spin bowling. The statistics say that he went out for a spin, so he needs to work on it.”

With Virat Kohli’s form in doubt against the spinners, it will be interesting to see what approach the former Indian captain decides to take heading into the next match. Many local fans would be excited to see the local boy perform at his home venue and put an end to the questions being thrown at him.
