pat cummins, the Australia captain, praised the “Barmy Army”, an English cricket fan organization, for their heartfelt tribute to his ailing mother. Maria’s son, Pat, used the social networking site Twitter to express his emotions to the world.
When the Barmy Army dedicated the song “Maria” from “West Side Story, (1961)” by Jerome Robbins and Robert Wise, Cummins claimed that his mother Maria, who was seriously ill and in hospice care, did so.

Pat Cummins praises the crazy army
“This is amazing @TheBarmyArmy thank you. Mom loved to see this and she was very touched? wrote on Monday. Returning to the rivalry between supporters, the Nutty Army responded: “See you in the summer.”
A lone trumpeter performed an emotional version of ‘Mary’ from West Side Story as part of the Mad Army’s tribute to Pat Cummins’ mother during England’s second Test match against New Zealand.
It seems almost clear that Pat Cummins will not play in the fourth and final Test against India, which begins on Wednesday. Until Pat Cummins is ready to return, Steve Smith, Australia’s captain from 2015 to 2018, will captain.

Pat Cummins’ teammate Peter Handscomb praised the Australian captain’s tenacity.
“It’s quite understandable that Pat has gone home and it’s always going to be family first, that’s a good mentality in this group.” Handscomb said in Delhi on Sunday.
“There is a lot of empathy for Pat, and the boys have been sending messages and wishing him and his family lots of love and support.”
Australia will try to win just their second Test on Indian soil since 2004 and return in the current series without Cummins and experienced starter David Warner, who has been ruled out of the remainder of the series with a broken elbow.
However, the third Test will likely feature Starc and all-rounder Cameron Green for Australia, both of whom have healed from broken fingers sustained in December.
Australia will have a more even starting XI than in the previous two Tests thanks to the presence of Starc and Green, who have bowled at full pace on the practice nets of late. The first test will begin on June 16 in Edgbaston when Australia visit the UK for an Ashes series in June.
