The 26-year-old got the visitors off to a good start by dismissing Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill on low scores. He took the gates of Shreyas IyerR Ashwin and Umesh Yadav as India were bowled out for just 109 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja BH-ringsis the length a bit backwards – Matthew Kuhnemann

Kuhnemann said he learned from Jadeja’s bowling in Delhi that he reduced his length a bit as the ball got bigger and was consistent at 5-6 metres.

“The way he uses his tuck and probably the most important thing I learned in Delhi is that he brings its length recedes somewhat as the ball ages. That’s probably the main thing I took out of the second test and incorporated into this test, probably my length. I don’t want to fill up, especially on a wicket that stays low, being consistent over that 5-6 meter length. Kuhnemann said.

Australia are in a comfortable position going into the third Test with a score of 156-4 at stumps on Day 1, leading by 47 runs in the first innings. Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja formed a crucial partnership after losing to Travis Head early. India rallied in the game with three wickets at the end of the day.
