KL Rahul’s innings were instrumental in India’s win over Australia in the Mumbai ODI. Batting at number 5, he came to the crease when India were in trouble at 39 for 4, with several key players already sacked.
KL Rahul started cautiously but built his innings steadily with a 44-run partnership alongside Hardik Pandya who was the aggressor in the partnership. After Pandya’s ouster, Rahul teamed up with Ravindra Jadeja to lead India to a comfortable victory.
He scored his 13th ODI half-century in 73 balls and then scored 75 runs in 91 deliveries, hitting seven bounds and one six. His partnership with Jadeja, who added 108 runs to the score, was instrumental in India’s successful chase.
