Delhi Capitals Women had a field day on the course Women’s Premier League as the Meg Lanning-led side defeated the Sneh Rana-led Gujarat Giants by a massive 10-wicket margin while chasing a total of 106 runs on the board in just 7.1 overs.
Meg Lanning along with star opener Shafali Verma proved too much for the Gujarat bowlers as the two put together their second 100 runs plus standing of the season with Shafali Verma leading the way.

Shafali crushed opposition bowlers across the park recording 76* runs in just 28 deliveries, denying them a chance to come back in the game. Meg Lanning, on the other hand, played the perfect supporting character as she rotated the strike well and scored 21* runs in 15 deliveries, including the winning runs, which saw her side win.

“That was a very good show to see from the other. I was just cheering and it was good to see that. I just told Shafali to stay put and hit the ball straight. She was amazing tonight. She looked like a new ball wicket and they have some quality bowlers. Kapp was excellent today and his natural lengths work very well on these types of surfaces. He really love it when he bowls. Very happy, you can’t complain about a victory like that”.
The team led by Meg Lanning has won three of four games and continues in second place in the points table. The team has been doing well apart from their loss against Mumbai Indians Women and will be looking to carry the momentum in their upcoming games.
