After losing the first wickets during their chase, it looked as though Delhi would lose the ball at one point, but Jess Jonassen along with Marizanne Kapp kept their nerves as the duo put together an unbeaten 45-run partnership for the fifth wicket to lead their team to the victory.

Delhi Capitals with the win have now equaled Mumbai Indians in terms of points and are positioned second in the points table. On the other hand, things have not worked out for Bangalore this season as the team suffered their fifth consecutive loss in the tournament.

Australia’s multi-talented Jess Jonassen was on hand with the announcers as she received the Player of the Match award for her contribution. Jonassen spoke about her association with Marizanne Kapp and how the game was too similar for her liking.

“Well that’s nice. He got closer than we liked. Happy to get the home side at the end. Superhuman diving from Kapp and Capsey at the top helped us at the end too. Helps as Australia is tough expedite the request.Jess Jonassen said.
“But domestically, I’m the finalist, it’s my job and it’s good to do it. The bowlers set it up and Capsey was on top. Happy with the two points. There were moments of nervousness for us. Schutt was bowling well. So, he was nervous and we got the cap early in the over and got the win again. A great game and happy to be on the winning side.”
Delhi will be eagerly awaiting their reverse fixture against Mumbai Indians in hopes of adjusting the score against the franchise. However, the team will have to wait for their chance when they first face Gujarat Giants Women in their next match.
