India National Cricket Team all-format captain Rohit Sharma joined India’s first training session in Leicestershire ahead of the high-profile one-off Test against England National Cricket Team.
The majority of the Indian Test squad members, including the likes of Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur arrived in the United Kingdom on June 16.
However, captain Rohit Sharma did not travel with the first batch but he left for the UK a day later. Also, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, who participated in the five-match home T20I series against South Africa, flew from Bengaluru after the series concluded in a 2-2 draw.
After the arrival in London, the Indian Test team had a couple of training sessions and now they have shifted base to Leicestershire.
Rohit Sharma And Co. To Have A One Week Training Session In Leicestershire
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated that the Indian Test team will be training in Leicestershire for one week.
Rohit Sharma-led India will be playing a 4-day practice match against Leicestershire from June 24 to 27 ahead of the first Test.
Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a few photos of the Indian Test team on Monday, in which captain Rohit Sharma was looking on as the team started outdoor training in Leicestershire. Also, net bowler Kamlesh Nagarkoti was spotted training with the likes of Shardul Thakur and Jasprit Bumrah.

The 5th and last Test match of the series between India and England, which was cancelled last year due to the Covid-19 outbreak in the Indian camp, will be played at the Edgbaston, Birmingham from Friday, July 1.
Both India and England will have new captains in the last Test match of the series as Virat Kohli and Joe Root have been replaced by Rohit Sharma and Ben Stokes. Also, India have a 2-1 lead in the Test series.
