A three match T20I series between Afghanistan and Pakistan is scheduled to take place in Sharjah later this month. The two countries will play a multi-game bilateral series for the first time during this series.
All three games will be played at the same venue, with the series kicking off on March 25 and the final T20I being played on March 29. Only one ODI and one T20I were played between the two sides in Sharjah, both of which Pakistan won in 2012 and 2013. The only other meetings between the two neighboring nations were in multi-team competitions.

Afghanistan and Pakistan cricket boards excited for thrilling series
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chairman Mr. Mirwais Ashraf expressed his enthusiasm for the series and hoped to expand Afghanistan’s cricket ties with Pakistan. He said, “We are hopeful and look forward to furthering our ties with PCBs as well as continuing great partnerships and frequent cricket assignments with them which will help us further strengthen our team and cricket as a whole.
“Overall, we are excited to host and play Pakistan in what will be an exciting series of cricket games between the two countries.”

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mr. Najam Sethi also expressed his satisfaction with the inaugural T20I series between the two nations. He said, “I am delighted that Pakistan’s inaugural T20I series against Afghanistan will be played later this month in a city that has a large expat community and has always supported cricketers from both countries.”
