Indian and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad has married his long-time girlfriend Utkarsha Pawar. The right-hander got married today Saturday (June 3) and posted the photos on his social media account to keep his fans up to date.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s marriage took place at the luxurious ‘Le Meridien Resort & Spa’ in Mahabaleshwar. The cricketer delayed his marriage due to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and after the league ended he wasted no time in getting married. The function was attended by family and friends. No cricketer was seen at the marriage.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s love affair with cricket will only get stronger as his wife Utkarsha Pawar is also a cricketer. She plays for the Maharashtra women’s team in domestic cricket. Hailing from Pune, she is also a student at the Institute of Nutrition and Exercise Sciences (INFS), Pune.

Utkarsha Pawar also performed in the stands as the Chennai Super Kings won their 5th IPL Trophy by beating the Gujarat Titans in the reserve day final on 29 May. Ruturaj Gaikwad posted a photo of her with her after the game and together with MS Dhoni she was called the VVIP of her life.

Yashasvi Jaiswal replaced Ruturaj Gaikwad in the final WTC of India squad

After star batsman KL Rahul was ruled out of the ICC World Test Championship final, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) listed opener Ishan Kishan as his replacement in the main squad. Additionally, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Mukesh Kumar and Suryakumar Yadav were appointed as reserve players.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was listed in the team as a backup starter but reportedly informed the BCCI that he might join the team only after June 5 due to his wedding.

As a result, the India team management decided to replace him in the team with Yashasvi Jaiswal. The Rajasthan Royals young starter has already arrived in London and started training for the main clash, which is set to kick off on June 7 at Kennington Oval, London.
