“It was a great game, hard to criticize much. We got away with the bowl well, Kapp helped us get off to a great start again and chasing us like that was brilliant. DC-W jumps to the top of the league table at WPL 2023
With their victory over MI-W, DC Women has taken the top spot in the 2023 WPL league table with best net run rate (NRR).
Having won 5 of their 6 matches before tonight, Mumbai was sitting comfortably at the table. But the thrashing at the hands of Delhi dropped them to second in the table. Had they won tonight, Harmanpreet Kaur’s team would have sealed first place. Both DC and MI are in contention for that position now.
While the Capitals will take on the Warriorz in their final match, the Indians will take on the eliminated RCB. If one of these two wins their match and the other loses, they win and secure first place and will qualify directly for the final. If they both win, it all comes down to NRR.
It should also be mentioned that UP Warriorz have an outside chance to be the best team. If they win their match by a big margin and MI suffer a big loss, UP will top the league table.
