Australian all-rounder Cameron Green praised Rohit Sharma’s captaincy and hoped to bring the Indian captain’s calm to his game. Cameron Green’s statement came ahead of the highly anticipated World Test Championship (WTC) final against India at the Oval in London, starting on June 7.

Cameron Green represented Mumbai Indians in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. The all-rounder scored 452 runs and took six wickets in the tournament. He smashed a 47-ball hundred against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their last group match.

My role was to try to be aggressive – Cameron Green

When asked about playing under Rohit’s guidance, Cameron Green said the IM captain helped him attack both spin and pacers.

“The tranquility that he has in the middle is so evident. She’s obviously been there and done that for 10 years. Being there with him and just talking about a situation was amazing.” Green told ICC.

“My role was to try to be aggressive and then obviously he showed ways to do it, whether it was attacking spin, attacking pace, picking your pitcher in some way.” added.

The 24-year-old said the WTC final is a big moment for him and that Virat Kohli is the biggest threat for them in the summit clash.

“Virat Kohli. I think he always tries to be the man who stands up for the big moments. A World Test Championship is obviously a big moment, so I’m looking forward to that.” he said green.

The right-handed batsman said he can switch his mindset from T20 cricket to Test matches, just like the other players.

“There’s nothing like Test cricket when you’re in the middle. Obviously your nerves are very high. I think the best players are the best that can handle that.” He concluded.
