Bangladesh is set to host New Zealand for the three-match ODI series ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 according to Cricbuzz reports. The games are expected to take place at the end of September, just before the mega-event, which is scheduled for October 5 in India.

The first game of the series will reportedly take place on September 21, followed by the second and third games to be played on September 23 and 26. All three games will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

After that, both teams will fly to India for the World Cup. Next, both Bangladesh and New Zealand will be back in action as they return to the Test series. The Kiwis will play a two-day scrimmage on November 23-24.

The Test series will kick off on November 28 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The venue will host its first test match in five years. The second and final match of the two-Test series will be played from December 6-10 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

“New Zealand Cricket officials are quite impressed with our facilities,” says Bangladesh Cricket Board Director Shafiul Alam Chowdhury.

Reports suggested that four members of New Zealand Cricket went to Bangladesh to inspect the wicket facilities, security and the venue. it was learned that they were impressed with the facilities.

bangladeshi Cricket Board director Shafiul Alam Chowdhury said they have met the NZC’s requirements and are optimistic about staging a test match in Sylhet. Speaking to Cricbuzz, he said:

“We are expected to host the opening Test of the two-game series against New Zealand in November-December and this will be a great occasion for us as we will host a Test match after five years. They (NZC representatives) are quite impressed with our facility and it seems we have met all their requirements.” He concluded.
