Saeed Ajmal, who was one of the best to have played for Pakistan, said that during his playing days, the team lacked a player like Babar Azam and now they need 2-3 more batsmen like him to strengthen the team. Speaking to Cricket Pakistan, he said:
“During my time playing cricket, I always wished I had a batsman like Babar Azam in the team who could stay in the crease and patiently score runs, so that the bowlers can get a slight edge or at least something to defend, and much less. bowl aggressively. However, at that time, our bowlers were quite weak.
“Now when the batting is strong, the bowling has been weak of late. That’s why I mentioned earlier that we need two or three more players like Babar Azam, which I didn’t mean to criticize anyone, just to imply that it would only make the team stronger.”

“If one of your players tops the leaderboards in T20I, ODI and is also in the top ten in the Test format, with that he is able to achieve the fastest 5000 runs, accumulating the most runs, in conclusion , you are holding all the essential records in your name. So why shouldn’t we and shouldn’t we support it?
“I agree that he could have some captaincy flaws, but that can be fixed by teaching him, guiding him intelligently. His batting is impeccable and there is no need for undue criticism for that.” He concluded.
