Ashes 2023: “The boss writes his own scripts”, Brendon McCullum on Ben Stokes

England have looked like a completely different team under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum. They have instilled a fearless attitude in the players and have won 10 of their last 12 games. Their Bazball technique has been quite entertaining as it has given them great results.

Brendon McCullum has praised captain Ben Stokes for the turnaround in English cricket. He said the all-rounder will have a big impact on the series and they are lucky to have him as a skipper. He explained:

“The skipper writes his own scripts and this is the biggest stage you can probably get. He has something up his sleeve. Sometimes he will have to go through the pain barrier, but we know he is not afraid of that. If he doesn’t throw a ball, he’s still going to have a tremendous impact in this series. He is an absolute beauty and we are so lucky to have him as our captain.”

England’s real test will be against Australia and it remains to be seen how they fare against them. They will meet in Birmingham on Monday June 12 and start their practice in Edgbaston on Tuesday June 13.
